Melkkos, another amazing South African

"Melkkos" is one of my all-time favorite foods. Honestly, I do not know what its English name is, but if I were to translate it, it would be something similar to milk food. Milk is the key ingredient in this recipe, which also contains flour and butter.

It is a wonderful traditional dish that can be eaten throughout the year. Try it in the cold; it will warm you from within! There is nothing more delicious than a bowl of "melkkos" topped with cinnamon sugar.

What could be nicer, I ask everyone? If you have never tried it, the moment has come.

Ingredients:

1 cup of flour

1 1/2 tablespoons of hard butter

A pinch of salt

2 1/2 cups of milk

Method:

1. Utilizing your fingers, rub the butter into the flour. Add salt and continue mixing.

2. Bring the milk to a boil on the heat and gradually stir in the butter and flour mixture.

3. Reduce the heat and allow it to boil for around 5 minutes. Be sure to stir the mixture frequently.

4. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over top, and serve warm.

You will not be let down by this recipe. Try and have fun. Believe me, you will.
